04:50 PM EST, 01/22/2019 (MT Newswires) -- Shares of embattled Canadian cannabis producer Aphria Inc. (APHA.TO, APHA) -- which has yet to respond line by line as it promised to a short seller report on it weeks ago -- and U.S.-based Green Growth Brands Inc.  were halted by regulators Tuesday, raising the possibility that Green Growth is set to make an improved formal bid after its initial informal approach was knocked back as insufficient by Aphria.

APHA closed down near 5% on the TSX today, but was up 5.5% in US after hours.
