Yamana Gold announces 33 percent increase in dividend

TORONTO, Aug. 5 /CNW/ - YAMANA GOLD INC. (TSX:YRI; NYSE:AUY; LSE:YAU) announced yesterday that it has further increased its dividend. All dollar amounts are expressed in United States dollars unless otherwise specified.

The Board of Directors has approved an increase in Yamana's dividend to an annualized $0.08 per share, or $0.02 per share per quarter. This represents a 100 percent increase over the 2009 annualized dividend of $0.04 per share, or $0.01 per share per quarter and a 33 percent increase over the annualized dividend increase to $0.06 per share, or $0.015 per share per quarter announced last quarter.

The dividend increase will be in effect for the third quarter dividend, payable on Thursday, October 14, 2010, to holders of record at the close of business on Thursday, September 30, 2010. The dividend is an "eligible dividend" for Canadian tax purposes.

Yamana is committed to delivering value to shareholders including cash value by means of dividends and it will continue to periodically evaluate the dividend level as its cash flows increase.

CALGARY, July 22 /CNW Telbec/ - Questerre Energy Corporation ("Questerre" or the "Company") (TSX,OSE:QEC) launched a video today explaining how natural gas is extracted from shale rock in the St. Lawrence Lowlands. The video, available in both French and English at www.questerre.com, provides factual information on the horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing processes used in Québec.

Questerre was the first-mover in Québec with our current land position taken in 1998. The Company holds over one million gross acres in the St. Lawrence Lowlands. With our partners, Questerre has drilled 9 wells and completed 25 hydraulic fractures in Québec. Netherland, Sewell & Associates, Inc., ("NSAI") an independent reservoir engineering firm based in Texas, estimates that the recoverable gas from Questerre's net acreage is in the range of 4.28 Tcf, an amount that could meet the needs of Quebeckers for the next 20 years.
